Pair of Platinum, Ruby, and Diamond Drops, each centering a pear-shape ruby, measuring approx. 9.39 x 7.14 x 2.95 and 9.90 x 7.24 x 3.49 mm, surrounded by old European-cut diamonds, approx. total diamond wt. 2.70 cts, (rubies with carved channels to underside).
Note: Accompanied by AGL report no. CS70602A and B, dated October 7, 2015, stating that the rubies are natural with no evidence of heat treatment, origin Burma.
Provenance: From the collection of a prominent British American family. According to family oral history, most of the stones and pearls were purchased in the 1880s or 1890s by the family patriarch, a successful banker who maintained residences in the United States, Great Britain, and France.
