George II Sterling Silver Desk Set, tray marked: London, 1739-40, James Gould, maker; pounce pot, taper stick, and inkwell lacking hallmarks, the tray with engraved presentation inscription to underside "The Gift of John Darden/to Emma Wyatt 1756," on scrolled feet, lg. 5 3/4 in.

Handle with repair to stem. Footrim of taper stick dented. Pounce pot rim broken off (appears to be still attached to pierced lid). Rim of inkwell re-soldered.
