Wreck of the Martin Luther, attributed to A. Ellison and inscribed on a plaque. Oil on board, sight size 11 3/4 x 16 3/4 in., framed. Condition: Surface grime and some sight staining.

N.B. This lot is accompanied by a copy of The Illustrated London News from 1857 featuring an article about the incapacitation of the Martin Luther as well as an engraving of the painting.
