Attributed to Henry Lee (American, 1864-1930)
Floral Still Life with Cowslips in a Pottery Vase. Unsigned, inscribed and possibly dated "Bellosguardo/..." in pencil l.l., artist identified on a typed note in an envelope affixed to the frame backing paper. Watercolor on laid paper, 10 5/8 x 8 3/8 in., framed. Condition: Sheet laid down on paperboard, subtle fading.
N.B. The note identifies the artist as Henry "Hal" Lee, the eldest son of Henry Lee and Elizabeth Perkins (Cabot) Lee. It is typed on letterhead bearing the printed address "450 Warren Street/Brookline, Massachusetts."
