Large Nayarit Seated Male and Female Pair, Ixtlan del Rio Style, c. 100 BC-AD 250, the male holding a fan, his partner holding a bowl to her shoulder, both with elaborate headgear, ornaments, and paint-decorated clothing, red slipped earthenware with yellow and white pigment, (a few repairs),ht. to 14 in.
Provenance: Elsa and Roger Sonnabend, collected in the 1950s to 60s.
