John Wood 18kt Gold Pair Cased Watch, Liverpool, No. 2299, c. 1795, porcelain Roman numeral dial with moon hands and blued seconds, the case carries two watch papers from Bond & Son and Jesse Smith Chronometers, Essex Street, Salem, inside marked 18, case maker TH, and Chester assay marks, gilt dust cover reveals the balance bridge with diamond endstone and inscribed Patent, and gilt full-plate movement marked by maker and numbered as above with chain fusee, maintaining power, steel three-arm balance, blued-steel regulator with compensation and chatoned "Liverpool windows," dia. 56 mm, 155.7 g.
