Rufus Porter Cherry Tall Clock, Billerica, Massachusetts, c. 1820, scroll-top case with freestanding brass-mounted fluted columns flanking the unusual Roman numeral brass dial signed Rufus Porter Billerica with stylized flowers in the spandrels and a rose in the arch, seconds and calendar subsidiary dials, scratch-beaded serpentine waist door with fluted quarter-columns above the step-molded base, all resting on bracket feet, eight-day time and hour-strike movement with recoil escapement, powered by two iron weights and regulated by a brass-faced pendulum with wood rod, ht. 82 in.
