James Poole & Company Silver Watch Made for William Bond & Son, London, No. 5972, c. 1880, the porcelain Roman numeral dial inscribed James Poole & Co./London/No. 5972, sunk seconds, up-down indicator, and gold hands, silver guilloche decorated case with London hallmark, interior of the cuvette engraved Made for W. Bond & Son/Boston/U.S., and serial number 5972, three-quarter gilt plate movement inscribed as above and 33 Spencer St. Clerkenwell, London/Awarded Prize Medals Paris and Philadelphia, key-wind and set, lever escapement, bimetallic balance, diamond endstone, screwed chatons, and leather exhibition case with felt and silk interior with printed makers information, dia. 54 mm, 145 g.
Case back perimeter rubbed, dial with repaired minor chips at 12:45 and 1:15, watch starts with minimal wind, unused for many years and probably should be cleaned.
