George Prior Verge Gilt Watch for the Turkish Market, London, No. 21598, c. 1790, the outer gilt-brass carrying case with simple turned decoration opens to the inner gilt-brass case, porcelain Arabic numeral dial signed George Prior/London, and brass hands below a bull's-eye crystal, the swing-out, key-wind and set, verge movement with finely pierced balance cock, foot, and silvered dial regulator platform, chain fusee, decoratively pierced pillars, and signed in Arabic and numbered 21598 on the plate, all with associated chain, watch dia. in inner case 56 mm, contained in outer 67 mm.
