Model 1861 Springfield Rifle Musket, c. 1862, walnut stock with the letters N.C. and C S A stamped on the left side of the stock near the lock screws, also has a carved M.M, lockplate marked 1862, U.S./SPRINGFIELD, steel fittings, and a steel barrel with proof marks near the breech, barrel lg. 40, overall lg. 56 3/8 in.

Stock has a few dings and nicks, action functions properly, and some light patina on the steel parts.
