Description:
Boots Worn by General Samuel K. Zook, c. 1863, black leather boots, wood-pegged leather soles (some wear),the fronts lined with red morocco leather, with woven boot straps, ht. 18 in.
Provenance: From the collection of the Valley Forge Historical Society.
Note: With the boots is a letter to the Valley Forge Museum, dated October 25, 1921, stating that this is the uniform Zook wore when killed at the Battle of Gettysburg.

Some wear on the uppers, as well as the soles, but in good condition.
