Double-bag Knapsack Identified to M.J. Turner, c. 1861-65, Federal-style soft pack of painted canvas with leather straps, marked in between the two inner bags M.J. TURNER.

Provenance: The collection of Denis E. Reen.

Note: A search of the Compiled Service Records at the National Archives shows two M.J. Turners fighting for the Confederacy, one from Tennessee, the other from Georgia.
Estimate $300-500

Outer bag is dry, but in overall good condition.
