Vest Identified to Henry Watts Shephard, 170th New York Volunteers, Corcoran's Irish Legion, c. 1862-65, medium blue twill woven cloth with two external pockets, cotton print panel back with buckle adjustment, and lined with two different calico patterns.

Note: 1st Sergeant Henry Watts Shephard enlisted in the 170th New York Volunteers on August 26th, 1862, and mustered out on June 8th, 1865.
