Inlaid Mahogany Card Table, John and Thomas Seymour, Boston, Massachusetts, c. 1800, the shaped top with inlaid edge on a conformingly shaped skirt centering a wavy birch oval within a mitered panel, joining inlaid double-tapering, square legs, refinished, ht. 29, wd. 35 1/2, dp. 17 in.
there is evidence of old butt hinges at the back of the top, which were possibly superfluous additions at one time. The hinges at the edges of the top appear undisturbed and original.
