Description:

Louis XVI Marble and Ormolu-mounted Mantel Clock, France, c. 1785, of tapering pyramid form, the case surmounted by an armillary sphere, and with central plaque cast with figure of Cupid and classical females above an enameled dial with Roman and Arabic chapters, the associated movement stamped "J.V.," on rectangular plinth with turned feet, ht. 24 in.

Missing bronze ornaments to front of base. Small hairlines to the small base just below the finial. Numerous edge abrasions to the marble base and with a missing piece of chain to one side of the base.
