After Euguene Bormel, (Germany, 1858-1932)

Two Bronze Plaques, one depicting a nymph in diaphanous drapery holding a shell to her ear, with a cherub, signed "F. Hornemann. dep 1696" in lower left corner and "E. Bormel Berlin" in lower right; the other showing a winged nymph playing flutes with a cherub, signed "E. Bormel Berlin" in lower left corner, and "F. Hornemann. dep. 1696" in lower right, each ht. 18 3/4 in.
Estimate $800-1,200

Minor surface abrasions on figures, surface grime particularly at edges where frame meets and backs of panels. Overall signs of wear consistent with age and use.
