Spanish Carved Cassapanca, 16th/17th century and later components, walnut, with heavily carved back and sides with figural mounts, including winged female figures holding shield, frieze of berry and vine, bench seat opens to reveal vacant compartment, iron handles on sides, ht. 36 1/2, wd. 70, dp. 19 7/8; together with an associated bse, lg. 72, wd. 29, ht. 3 1/2 in.

Top portion may be from a later date than bottom portion, and some carvings may be later. Overall signs of wear including rubbing and abrasions to carvings, nicks, scratches to all surfaces and carvings, some chips overall, particularly to edges.
