George I Britannia Standard Silver-gilt Covered Sugar, London, 1719-20, Thomas Gladwin, maker, circular, the dome-top lid with a pagoda finial, the bowl with engraved crowned "A" monogram in two rocaille cartouches, decorated throughout with chased floral scrollwork, on a circular foot with beaded rim, ht. 5 3/4 in., approx. 12.6 troy oz.

Lid unmarked. Several dents to bowl rim (where lid sits, not visible to exterior) including one 2 inch long dent, which causes lid to sit poorly. Scattered minor dents to bowl, including some shallow dents and irregularities to monogrammed cartouches (silver surface still strong, does not appear to be monogram removal, see images). Otherwise with only very minor rubbed loss to gilding.
