Shirvan Rug, Northeast Caucasus, early 20th century, the medium blue abrashed field with an allover design of "flame" palmettes flanked by highly stylized ram's horn devices, birds, and rosettes all within a "Kufic" tile-patterned main border, barber pole, ribbon, eight-pointed star and reciprocal quatrefoil minor borders, 6 ft. 1 in. x 4 ft. 4 in.
