Description:

Shirvan Prayer Rug, East Caucasus, early 20th century, the ivory field with a staggered lattice design of highly stylized polychrome palmettes below a mihrab with a double latch-hooked rectangle and a pair of birds flanked by two large comb-type devices, all within a red double hooked "S" motif main border, 5 ft. 5 in. x 3 ft. 4 in.

selvage wear with minor moth damage in outer border, approximately half an inch rewoven at the top
