Two Baotou Mats, China, early 20th century, one with a central fretwork medallion flanked by mirror image vases with blossoming branches, "wan"-in-fret spandrels all on an ivory field and within a "rice grain" and floral lattice with interrupted medallion in cartouche-patterned main border, meandering "T" and pearl minor borders, 3 ft. 6 in. x 1 ft. 10 in., and one with a central fretwork medallion flanked by scholar's objects, "wan"-in-fret spandrels all on an ivory field, all within an octagonal floral lattice and interrupted cartouche main border, meandering "T" and pearl-patterned minor borders, 4 ft. 1 in. x 2 ft. 1 in.
