"Mochtasham" Kashan Prayer Rug, Central Persia, last quarter 19th century, the red scalloped mihrab with a dense array of blossoming vines and birds emerging from a navy urn, all within a midnight blue finely drawn palmette and flowering vine main border, multiple floral and reciprocal trefoil-patterned minor borders, 6 ft. 6 in. x 4 ft. 6 in.
