Two Short Jackets, China, 19th/20th century, one dark blue gauze woven with dragon roundels, with embroidered sleeve bands showing figures in a landscape, and applique trim at the neck and opening, the other navy silk with embroideries of peaches, bats, and peonies on the front panels, the back and sleeves decorated with sprigs of flowers and butterflies, with four carved wood buttons, lg. to 39 in.
Provenance: From the collection of a New England family who lived in China from 1899 to the 1960s.
