Large Painted Neolithic Jar and Two Neolithic Jarlets, China, Banshan Culture, Gansu, 3rd century BC, the sloping shoulders painted in red and black spirals enclosing serrated edges, with a wave band below, the short everted mouth with a net pattern, the interior of the rim with a band of dogtoothed swags, ht. 10 1/2; two jarlets decorated with red and black net patterns in diamond-shaped bands, dia. to 6 1/8 in.
