Henri Matisse (French, 1869-1954)

Massia au visage allongé, 1914, edition of 15 (Duthuit, 26). Inscribed and signed "...Henri Matisse" in ink l.r. Etching on Chine collé, plate size 5 7/16 x 4 in. (13.8 x 10.1 cm), framed.
Condition: Margins over 2 1/4 inches, mat burn, pale toning and fox marks, tape and/or glue residue to corners of supporting sheet, white cloth tape to edges on the reverse.
Estimate $4,000-6,000

The sheet measures 12 5/8 x 8 7/8 in. There are old hinges and tape residue near the upper corners on the reverse.
