Three Portraits from the Portfolio O, Write My Name: Paul Robeson,Marian Anderson, and Mahalia Jackson, 1933, 1947, and 1962, respectively, printed 1983, in an edition of 100, published by Eakins Press Foundation, New York. Unsigned. Photogravures on paper, plate sizes to 9 1/2 x 6 5/8 in. (24.2 x 16.8 cm),unmatted, unframed.
Condition: Minor rippling to sheets, several with a deckled edge.
N.B. The gravures were hand-pulled by Richard Benson and Thomas Palmer and include letterpress captions providing biographical information, dates, and an excerpt from a related work by the subject. 'O, Write My Name': American Portraits, Harlem Heroes, which is based on the 1983 limited edition portfolio, was recently published by Eakins Press.
