Carved Mahogany Slant-lid Desk, attributed to Nathaniel Gould (1734-1781),Salem, Massachusetts, c. 1758-68, the lid opens to a stepped interior of three concave carved drawers topped by a fan with flanking document drawers with engaged balusters and four valanced compartments and two shaped drawers on two projecting half drawers, the cockbeaded case of four graduated drawers on bracket feet, old replaced brasses, early surface, (imperfections),ht. 42 1/4, wd. 39 1/4, dp. 20 in.\
