Seven Agate Boxes, probably England and Scotland, late 18th/mid-19th century, three casket boxes on ball feet, all with gilded banding: blue agate, lg. 2 3/4, lapis, lg. 3, carnelian, lg. 1 7/8; three oval boxes: two brown agate with gilded frame, lg. 2 1/2, 2, variegated agate with silver hinges, lg. 2 1/4; and a rectangular carnelian with gilded rim, lg. 2 3/8 in.

**Please note updated condition 7/14/15:
Boxes with ball feet all with minor nicks along feet: blue agate with small (5/16 in.) chip to back left corner of lid and chipped loss to right panel (slightly visible from exterior); lapis with patch to flaw in stone on back panel and chipped loss to underside corner; carnelian with small crack to base panel. Oval boxes: variegated agate with crack to the left of clasp extending to base, flaked loss (1/4 inch wide 1/2 inch long) and small crack to lid left of clasp, lacking one joint to hinge, pin protruding; larger brown agate with very minor nicks along edge of panel (not visible to exterior); small brown box in good condition. Carnelian box (rectangular) with some verdigris to brass band and some wear to guilloche. Otherwise all with minor age-related wear (very minor abrasions to surface and hinges).
