Large Meissen Elements Ewer "Water," Germany, c. 1880, after 18th century models by Johann Kändler (1706-1776),decorated in high relief, mouth with shell decoration and winged putto resting on ribbon-tied seaweed handle, a fleet of ships and sea creatures encircling the waist, with flanking Nereid and Neptune in a shell-form chariot drawn by Hippocampi, spreading foot with dolphin decoration, factory marks, inscribed "320," ht. 26 1/2 in.
