William Gale & Son Sterling Silver Basket, New York, 1862, with gold-washed interior, scalloped rim, and bail handle, the body with engraved scrolls centering a portrait medallion of Dante to either side, lg. 6 in., approx. 8.7 troy oz.

In good overall condition with only scattered minor abrasions to interior, pinprick dent to lower body and minor rubbing to decoration (particularly medallions) consistent with polishing over the years.
