Set within a narrow frame, the composition consists of a large square and triangle upon which are grouped various smaller curvilinear and cylindrical forms, identified on a label affixed to the back: "The Louise Nevelson Sculpture for the American Book Award in fiction to John Updike for Rabbit is Rich published by Alfred A. Knopf ed. 72 [copyright mark] Louise Nevelson 1980," ht. 15, wd. 15 5/8, dp. 3 in.
Provenance: By descent in the family of John Updike.
