Painted Dome-top Box with Map Interior, America, early 19th century, the box with painted drapery and flower design on front and sides, the lid with painted rose, brass pull handles with oval escutcheons on the sides and a brass hasp on the front, the interior lined with the 1849 printing of "A Chorographical Map of the Province of New York in North America," (surface alligatored),ht. 11, wd. 18 1/2, dp. 11 in.
