Dory Fisherman, 1927, trial proof B-6 (Paff, 267). Signed "FrankWBenson." in pencil l.l. Etching on laid paper with a partial "ENGLAND" watermark, plate size 7 7/8 x 9 7/8 in. (19.8 x 25.0 cm),unmatted, unframed.
Condition: Margins over 3/4 inches with deckled upper edges, pencil annotations to lower margin, ink and fingerprints to margins and verso.
Provenance: Descended within the family of the artist.
N.B. This proof is inscribed "rag wiped" in the l.l. corner of the margin. There was a "C" trial made of this image prior to the published state.

Sheet measures 11 x 13 1/8 in. The print is dark and rich with burr. The paper is cream in color.
