Embroidered Silk Fragment, China, 18th/19th century, depicting two Buddhist lions playing with a decorative ball and ribbons, one embroidered in "forbidden stitch," surrounded by bats and with auspicious peaches above, peonies, chrysanthemums, and rockery below, all with details highlighted with gold thread, bordered by two different bands of trim, 23 1/2 x 8 in.
