Description:

Miniature Painting of a Mughal Court, India, 18th/19th century, opaque color and gold on bone, depicting a court meeting or conference, with the Mughal Emperor, possibly Shah Jahan, at the center wearing jewelry and a feathered turban, surrounded by courtiers, bordered by painted representations of inlaid marble as used in the Taj Mahal and further bordered by decorative gilt floral bands, sight size 5 3/4 x 3 3/4 in.
