Mughal-style Jade Brush Washer, China, 19th century, squat round form resting on four feet, the interior of the bowl carved with scrolling lotus petals and an incised chrysanthemum at the center, the exterior carved with a repeating blooming lotus flower motif, the flattened mouth rim encircled by a band of chrysanthemum flowerheads, with eleven rubies and gilt decorations applied to the center of the underside as the center of a chrysanthemum with carved petals and a foliate border surrounding it, the feet and undersides of the feet carved as flowerheads and leaves, dia. 6 1/2 in.
