Ottoman Silk Turban Cover, Anatolia, late 18th/early 19th century, one side with a center roundel comprised of four light blue, highly stylized, curled blossoms issuing small buds, large curled branches with a similar design at each corner, all on a soft gold ground and embroidered in silk; the reverse displaying a large ivory octagon with a beige quartered roundel and a small inscription, with a small-scale "X" device and contiguous zigzag pattern flanking the outside of the octagon, 3 ft. x 3 ft.

Provenance: From the Gillian Richardson Collection; proceeds to benefit the New England Rug Society.
