Melas Rug, Southwest Anatolia, 19th century, the light red "head and shoulders" prayer arch inset with a latch-hooked diamond issuing highly stylized blossoms and a central pole tree with many small blossoms and a rosette at the top all below an ivory stylized palmette and latch-hooked panel, within a wide beige palmette and hooked flowerhead-patterned main border, ivory rosette minor border, 6 ft. 2 in. x 4 ft. 3 in.
