Kashmir Ramal Shawl, North India, second half 19th century, the black pendanted center medallion encircled by an allover pattern of multicolored hooked "boteh" enclosing eight shield-style palmettes and with other swirling floral elements, the inner border comprised of individual palmettes and sprays of leaves, bold polychrome shield-type cartouches complete the end and side panels, 6 ft. 7 in. x 6 ft. 7 in.
