Shirvan Prayer Rug, East Caucasus, late 19th century, the ivory field with an allover lattice design of polychrome latch-hooked diamonds below a highly stylized palmette and a medium green niche inset with stepped diamonds, stylized rosettes and fan-tail devices above the niche, all within a red serrated leaf and "wineglass" main border, multiple rosette-patterned minor borders, 6 ft. x 3 ft. 4 in.
