Blue-painted Two-piece Step-back Cupboard, America, 19th century, the upper section with cove-molded cornice over two paneled, hinged doors and central arched support, the lower section with two hinged, paneled doors, raised on bracket feet, blue over an earlier salmon paint, ht. 80 1/2, wd. 56 3/4, dp. 22 1/2 in.

top and base together by association, top section has been modified, where two drawers had once stood, was cut down, and the central arch added. The cornice molding is also a newer addition. The paint is also a newer coat and heavy distressed to look worn
