Khamseh Rug, Southwest Persia, late 19th/early 20th century, the chocolate brown field with three contiguous stepped diamonds each inset with an ivory bracketed polygon and serrated leaves and surrounded by highly stylized birds, animals, blossoms, octagons, and rosettes, ivory floral spandrels, all within an angular vine and stepped diamond main border, 6 ft. 11 in. x 4 ft. 11 in.
