Maltese School, 19th Century

Portrait of the American Merchant Ship Brunswick Entering Malta. Unsigned, vessel identified on pennant and stern. Watercolor and gouache on paper, 18 1/2 x 26 in., framed. Condition: Several tears taped from behind, toning on unpainted surfaces.
Estimate $200-300

Not laid down, tears repaired with cellophane tape, to tears down center, and right edge at u.l. about 1 in. from edge; extended tear l.r. about 4 1/2 in. angeled down from edgeending about 1 1/4 in from edge; a few small edge chips.
