Pair of Rose Medallion Rouleau Vases, China, late 19th/early 20th century, decorated with rectangular cartouches depicting court scenes, alternating with panels of birds and butterflies, with molded gilt dragons and lions at the shoulders and neck of the vases, four-character Qianlong mark stamped in red on base, ht. 18 5/8 in.
Provenance: Sold to benefit the acquisition fund of the Hood Museum of Art, Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire.
