Ivory Netsuke of an Oni Monster, Japan, 19th century, sitting on a giant shell with his left leg raised and his right leg placed parallel to the ground, his left arm stretched back and his right arm folded, expressive face, incised details stained in brown in different shades, signed "Sanseki," ht. 1 5/8 in.
