Signed "Somaini" and stamped "5956" in the bronze at the bottom edge, dated "1958"
on the sales receipt that accompanies this lot.
Bronze with varied patinas, approximately 9 1/2 x 18 x 8 in. (23.5 x 45.7 x 20.3 cm),on a pivoting metal base.
Condition: Surface imperfections and wear that are part of the aesthetic, surface dust and dirt.
Provenance: A private Massachusetts collection.
N.B. A sales receipt dated March 2, 1966, from the Obelisk Gallery accompanies this lot.
With a small, plastic, embossed "DYMO" type label reading "SOMAINI" affixed to one of the L-shaped supports.
Small circular scratch measuring 1/2 inch diameter to the metal base. Other very minor scratches to the base. Dust overall. The surfaces of the metal are naturally rough and show varying patinas. No additional condition issues to report.
