After Tiziano Vecelli, called Titian (Italian, c. 1485-1576)

Portrait Head of Charles V at Battle of Muehlberg
Unsigned, inscribed "Buccleugh" on a label on the stretcher, inscribed
"Charles V. Emperor/of Germany." in a later hand on the stretcher.
Oil on canvas, 18 3/4 x 17 3/16 in. (47.5 x 43.5 cm), framed.
Condition: Lined, retouch, skinning, craquelure, surface grime.
Estimate $2,000-3,000

The lining is adhered with glue. The craquelure is stable. The retouch is visible in scattered areas of the composition - see images under UV.
