N.B. The lot is accompanied by a photo certificate issued by G Franz Muller, dated May 25, 1933, that suggests an attribution to Meindert Hobbema and provenance through the collection of Baron van Zuylen, Holland. However, high resolution photographs of the painting were recently reviewed by Fred G. Meijer of the Netherlands Institute for Art History, who suggests the painting is actually a 19th-century imitation after Hobbema, possibly of English origin. It is not thought to be a direct copy, but generally inspired by Hobbema's landscapes.
Estimate $1,000-1,500
