Description:

Five Pieces of Meissen Porcelain, 19th century/20th century, four with crossed swords and star mark: two plates decorated with Herend-style birds and insects with molded basketweave borders, a fable-decorated plate, the center painted with a scene from Jean de La Fontaine, with a green checked border enclosing gilded scrolling foliage, c. 1785, titled "Le Boeuf et la Souris" in purple script, and a cup and saucer decorated with scenes of shepherdesses and sheep; and another plate with Herend-style birds and insects, with crossed sword mark; all plates dia. 9 1/2 in.
Estimate $300-400

All with usage wear. The cup with repaired break to handle. The saucer with numerous discolored abrasions to underside of border. Single bird plate with stacking wear to glaze on raised areas. One of the bird plated with basketweaveborder with large repaired chip to footrim.
