Maple & Co. Edwardian Mahogany Writing Desk, early 20th century, impressed "Maple & Co." to drawers, with neoclassical inlay throughout, the recessed superstructure with a central inlaid fan and pedestal flanked by two convex compartments, with an inset leather writing surface, a central frieze drawer with two small drawers to either side, raised on string-inlaid and tapering legs, ht. 38 3/4, wd. 45 1/4, dp. 22 1/4; together with a columnar table clock, similarly decorated bearing a label to the underside for "Alex & Jones Co.," ht. 12 1/4 in.

Legs with minor nicks and abrasions. Surface dry with some lightening to areas, some minor cracks and minor areas of lifting to veneer (to stringing along left side and stringing of upper right side of writing surface.) Some areas of veneer loss to writing surface. Leather with usage wear and repairs. Nicks to underside of left drawer. Clock with sunbleaching and minor abrasion to one side.
